Power spot and clearing exchange APX today announces the volumes of its power markets for the month of September. A total of 6.52 TWh was traded and cleared on the exchange.
A total of 146,983 trades were placed across the APX power spot markets.
Volumes traded on the Power NL Day-Ahead auction recorded 3.51 TWh. The Dutch Intraday market recorded more than doubled volumes year-on-year with 42.49 GWh traded.
A total of 67,163 trades were registered on the Dutch power market in September.
The Belpex Day-Ahead auction recorded 1,08 TWh traded in September while the Belpex Intraday market saw a healthy growth of 40,21 GWh traded in September, an increase of 65% year-on-year.
A total of 26,768 trades were registered on the Belgian power market in September.
The Power UK market remained steady with a total of 1.85 TWh traded. The continuous market recorded a total of 1.13 TWh while 713 GWh was traded on the Power UK Day-Ahead auction in September, up by 69% year-on-year.
Power UK OTC clearing registered 11 GWh.
A total of 53,052 trades were registered on the UK power market in September.
CWE Price Convergence
In September the entire CWE region had full price convergence for approximately 33% of the time. The Dutch market was connected 63% of the time with at least one neighbouring country (Germany or Belgium) and the Belgian market was converging with a neighbouring market (Netherlands or France) 99% of the time.
In September, the Dutch power index for the Day-Ahead Market, APX NL DAM Index, had a monthly average price of €50.57/MWh. Belix, the index for the Belpex Day-Ahead Market, had a monthly average price of €45.46/MWh. The UK power index for the Day-Ahead Market, UKPX Auction Base Index, had a monthly average price of £48.75/MWh.
UKPX RPD Spot Base Load Index (derived from APX Power UK’s Reference Price Data (RPD)) had a high of £59.61/MWh on 12 September and a low of £39.94/MWh on 2 September.
UKPX RPD Spot Industrial Peak Load Index (also RPD-derived) had a high of £66.67/MWh on 25 September and a low of £42.67/MWh on 1 September.
